We entered the ABA field as operators, working in companies that served multiple markets. That work gave us a deep understanding of what allows ABA companies to reach excellence in clinical quality, operational strength, and overall value.
A gap – and a vision
As the market-wide wave of clinician-owned practice sales gained momentum, we watched the typical selling pattern consistently turn opportunity into failure. Finance-first firms were winning most deals and turning high-quality companies doing excellent work into profit machines that were cannibalizing their own value.
So we built an alternative. One where capital and scale help clinics build lasting value instead of trading it away for quick returns.

Jay Lax
With more than five years of experience in the ABA industry, Jay Lax has built his career around scaling healthcare organizations by optimizing both operational and clinical excellence. He believes that sustainable growth comes from investing in people, building strong operational infrastructure, and empowering clinicians to focus single-mindedly on improving outcomes for children and families.
Today, Jay partners with ABA founders and leadership teams to preserve the culture and clinical excellence that made their organizations successful while providing the operational expertise, strategic resources, and long-term vision needed to help them reach their next stage of growth within a scaled, best-in-class ABA platform.
Zalman Krasnow
Zalman Krasnow brings the financial and operational discipline that keeps Avalon on a strong growth trajectory. After earning a master's degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University, he began his career at one of the largest nursing home providers in the country. There, he rose from staff accountant to Director of Accounts Payable, gaining deep experience in the financial workings of complex, multi-site healthcare operations.
That background shapes how he approaches his role at Avalon as he bridges the gap between operations and finance, ensuring all systems and infrastructure capture value in a disciplined, risk-managed manner.
